BVA Federal Credit Union has proudly served its members since 1966. The Credit Union was originally chartered as Rostraver Federal Credit Union. In 1969, the charter name was changed to Belle Vernon School Employees Federal Credit Union to better reflect the membership it served.

In 1999, the Credit Union adopted the name BVA Federal Credit Union to accommodate a larger centralized member group while continuing its commitment to providing personalized financial services and community-focused solutions.

In June 2026, BVA Federal Credit Union reached another historic milestone with approval of its charter conversion to a community-based Credit Union. This exciting expansion allows us to welcome more members while continuing to honor the values and traditions that have guided us for 60 years.

Membership is now open to individuals who live, work, worship, or own a business in Westmoreland, Fayette, or Washington Counties. We remain committed to delivering local decisions, personalized service, and trusted financial solutions to the communities we proudly serve.

BVA Federal Credit Union is owned by the members and run by a board of directors you elect. You can be confident that your financial privacy is a top priority of this credit union. We are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Each members’ deposits are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government to a maximum of $250,000.00.
